The management at the country’s largest two-wheeler maker, Hero MotoCorp Ltd, is set to hold a fresh round of talks with representatives of workers at its Gurgaon unit on Tuesday, seeking to break an impasse over wage increases at the facility. The last round of talks on Friday remained inconclusive as the two parties struggled to agree on the terms of settlement.

Workers have resorted to slowing of production last week to press with their demand for a monthly wage increase of over Rs 15,000 spread over three years. In a tripartite meeting at the Gurgaon additional labour commissioner’s office last week, the company had offered Rs 7,500 in wage settlement. Workers are demanding higher pay as productivity has risen since 2009. The management meanwhile chose to remain tight-lipped on the meeting, but maintained it was hopeful of a resolution soon.
