Hewlett-Packard launches 'Shorty'

Targeting mid-size companies, Hewlett-Packard (HP) has launched its new compact HP BladeSystem c3000, nicknamed "Shorty", for smaller technology sites, branch offices and remote locations.

Backed by HP Care Pack services, the new product help expand HP's "adaptive infrastructure" portfolio. The tower version of the c3000 is expected to be available in November.

The c3000 is fully compatable with the existing line of HP BladeSystem cClass servers and network connectivity options. It also supports the HP Proliant, Integrity and Stroage works server and storage blades.

HP currently holds 70% of market share for blade server shipments in India.
