FMCG major Godrej Consumer Products today said the Bombay High Court has given its approval for the merger of the company's two group firms — Godrej ConsumerBiz and Godrej Hygiene Care — with itself.
The High Court "has approved the scheme of amalgamation of Godrej ConsumerBiz Ltd and Godrej Hygiene Care Ltd with Godrej Consumer Products Ltd on October 8," the fast moving consumer goods company said in a statement to the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE).
The effective date of the scheme will be the date on which the certified copy of the order passed by the court is filed with the Registry of Companies, Maharashtra, it added.
Shares of Godrej Consumer Products were trading at Rs 264, up 0.23 per cent in the afternoon trade on the BSE.
