Hill International secures Rs 37-cr contract from Smart City

US-based construction risk management company Hill International has secured a Rs 37.3 crore (about $9.1 million) contract from SmartCity (Kochi) Infrastructure Pvt Ltd for its business park project in Kerala.     

Under the two-and-a-half-year contract, the American firm would provide project management services for the development of Smart City (Kochi).     

In a statement, Hill International said the first phase of the project is estimated to cost about $350 million.     

Smart City Kochi to be built on 300 acres of land would be developed as a Special Economic Zone (SEZ).     

According to the statement, when completed, the project would generate more than 90,000 job opportunities as global and local business would be attracted to start their regional operations.     

 

"We are very excited to be entering the Indian market with such an important project," Hill International's Project Management Group President Raouf S Ghali said.     

The US firm would be responsible for project administration, document control, budgeting, construction tendering, cost management and claims management, among others, the statement added.
