Hilton Worldwide has signed a management agreement with Eros Resorts & Hotels, a company of Eros Group, to manage two new properties in New Delhi.
The agreement will see the global hotel chain's fourth Hilton Hotel & Resorts property in India, and the introduction of the first DoubleTree. The properties are part of a twin-tower conversion project in New Delhi.
Hilton New Delhi Mayur Vihar is scheduled to open by May. The other building, which is currently operating as an unbranded hotel, will officially open as DoubleTree by Hilton New Delhi, Mayur Vihar, by April end. The hospitality company plans to triple its presence in India in the next two years by having 14 properties across India by 2013.
“For 2010, we achieved a global pipeline that included 868 hotels and more than 138,000 rooms worldwide, making this one of the largest pipelines in our history and in the industry,” said Christopher J Nassetta, president and CEO, Hilton Worldwide.
“We are focusing a significant amount of our development efforts in the Asia Pacific region – with 112 hotels and 32,916 rooms in the pipeline. We foresee phenomenal opportunities in India. We are expanding rapidly and will more than triple our presence in the country in the next two years – from four trading hotels to a total of 14, including these two properties signed with Eros Resorts & Hotels,” he said.
Hilton New Delhi Mayur Vihar will offer 173 guest rooms, including six suites and three food and beverage outlets. The DoubleTree has 196 rooms, including four suites. By 2012, the company will add eight more hotels in India, including five Hilton Hotels and Resorts, three DoubleTree by Hiltons, a Hilton Garden Inn and a Hampton by Hilton.
