Thiruvananthapuram-based mini-ratna Hindustan Latex Ltd plans a pan-India presence of its new diagnostics venture "" Hind Labs. |
The company would set up such centres in the National Capital Region and in 23 major cities of India covering over 110 hospitals apart from the Central Government Health Scheme (CGHS) clinics. |
The company had joined hands with CGHS to provide quality diagnostic services. The first such centre at CGHS clinic was started in Delhi recently. |
"We plan to make it a chain of diagnostic labs under the Hind Labs brand. The centres will be networked for monitoring and ensuring high standards of service delivery," said M Ayyappan, chairman and managing director, Hindustan Latex. |
Hind Labs comprise clinical specimen testing labs to deliver pathology, haematology and biochemistry tests. Auxiliary equipment like incubator, hot air oven, diagnostic imaging facility, ultrasound scanner and ECG machine form part of the labs making them complete diagnostics services centres. |
The operation of the centre and customer interfaces would be integrated through a laboratory management software, which will be capable of patient registration, billing, report entry and issue and generation of reports. |
Plans are also afoot to set up a chain of imaging centres on the same outsourcing model across India with facilities for CT and MRI scans. |
The following phase would see the establishment of a centralised ultra modern diagnostic centre to deliver specialised testing services, including an online network of diagnostic centres in India and abroad, he said. |
