Hind Motors hives off forging unit

CK Birla group company Hindustan Motors has hived off its forging business in Uttarpara and made it "outward looking."

The unit will now start looking for customers within and outside the country.

The company's Managing Director R Santhanam said their forging, stamping and casting unit had acquired new customers including a European car-maker in the overseas market and Tata Motors.

However, financial details of the orders or of the revenue from the unit were not available.
