Aditya Birla flagship firm Hindalco Industries today said its net profit increased by 12.03 per cent at Rs 719.93 crore for the second quarter ended September 30 over the corresponding period a year ago.
The company had a net profit of Rs 642.57 crore in the second quarter of FY'08, Hindalco Industries said in a filing to the Bombay Stock Exchange.
Net sales and operating revenue rose to Rs 5683.18 crore in the quarter under review from Rs 4966.93 crore in the same period last year.
For six-month ended September 30, Hindalco Industries reported a net profit of Rs 1,416.71 crore, a 14.14 per cent growth over the corresponding period a year ago. The company had a net profit of Rs 1,241.19 crore in the previous fiscal.
The company's net sales and operating revenues rose to Rs 10330.71 in the first half of current fiscal, from Rs 9652.07 crore in the year-ago period.
