Hinduja Global to expand in nearshore locations

To open delivery centres in Colombia, Mexico and Brazil

Hinduja Global Solutions (HGS), the BPO business of diversified business conglomerate Hinduja Group, is planning to expand footprint in nearshore locations such as Colombia, Mexico and Brazil to keep pace with the clients' demands.

The company, which operates 54 delivery centres across 11 countries, said the new centres would enable it to deliver services close to clients' locations.

“We want to expand the presence in countries like Columbia, Mexico and Brazil through which we can serve our customers in the US. It is mainly driven by the demands from the clients who are who believe that they can have much more control if the delivery centres are located close to the countries of their operation,” said Partha Desarkar, CEO of Hinduja Global Solutions.

 

The Bangalore-headquartered company which had recently opened a centre in Jamaica to address the client needs is also looking at more inorganic growth opportunities.

Recently, it signed an agreement with Deloitte Consulting to acquire the latter's healthcare back-office business for around $8.35 million. With the closure of the deal, around 400 people are expected to join HGS. This will bring in an additional revenues of $11 million for the company, Desarkar added.

This is HGS's fourth acquisition with in the last three years. Last year, the company made two acquisitions including CRM services provider On-Line Support Inc (OLS) and HCCA Business Services, a provider of Human Resource Outsourcing (HRO) services.

In 2010, the company acquired 100 per cent stake of UK-based Customer Relationship Management company – Careline Services for an undisclosed amount.

"Acquisitions are always on cards for us. We are looking at distress assets. In India, there are many smaller companies which can provide opportunity," said Desarkar. in India, he said, the company is looking for non-voice process businesses.

HGS which employs around 20,000 people globally is planning to hire around 3,500 people in the current fiscal.
