Chief minister K Chandra Sekhara Rao today requested Hinduja group chairman Ashok Hinduja to ensure Telangana share in supply of power from the company’s newly set up power project in Visakhapatnam.
The government of the undivided AP had signed a power purchase agreement(PPA) with the Hinduja’s 1,000 mw thermal power plant, which is expected to be commissioned by the end of this year. Both Telangana and Andhra Pradesh are entitled to get power from the projects that had signed PPAs with the previous state.
The issue has come up when the latter met with Rao, according to the chief minister’s office. On Monday, Microsoft India chairman Bhaskar Pramanik and ITC Limited executive director Pradip Dhobale met chief minister Rao and informed him about certain expansion plans, according to the chief minister’s office.
