Hindustan Dorr-Oliver bags $85mn order from Konkola Copper

Hindustan Dorr-Oliver today said it has received a $85 million order from Konkola Copper Mines for doing various engineering jobs for the Zambia-based miner's refinery at Chingola.

"Hindustan Dorr-Oliver has bagged an order from Konkola Copper Mines, Zambia for residual basic engineering, detailed engineering, procurement, supply, fabrication, erection and commissioning for a total value of $85 million for expansion of their copper refinery at Chingola," the company said in a filing to the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE).

This is first overseas project taken by the company in the mines and mineral sector. The company provides project management, engineering, procurement and construction services for each step in the mineral and metal recovery process, including material processing, smelting and refining.

 

"Zambia has got a lot of potential for other mineral projects coming up and HDO looks for future business from these type of projects," the statement said.

The scrip of the company today closed at Rs 66.55, up 3.1% over the previous close.
