Indian auto companies, handicapped by huge surplus capacities as projections of growth in the auto sector have gone awry, appear to be looking at opportunities to assemble vehicles for other auto companies to shore up revenue, and check losses.
Hindustan Motors, the CK Birla group flagship which produces the Ambassador and the Mitsubishi Lancer in India, has evinced interest in assembling vehicles for other auto manufacturers at its manufacturing plants.
