Backed by the launch of its new sanitaryware products and capacity addition at its glass division, Hindware, formerly known as Hindustan Sanitaryware and Industries Limited, has set a target of achieving a topline of Rs 1,000 crore by the end of the 2010-11 financial year. The company closed the 2008-09 fiscal with a turnover of Rs 671 crore.
The company sees improvement in the demand of sanitaryware products from next year. Apart from this, the company has expanded its glass manufacturing division by adding one more plant, which will be in full swing from next year. This will further contribute to company’s turnover.
“We aim to achieve a turnover of Rs 1,000 crore by the 2010-11 fiscal and hope to double the topline to Rs 2,000 crore by the year 2015,” said Sanjay Kalra, vice-president (sales) of HSIL, at the launch of its eco-friendly sanitaryware products in Ahmedabad. However, the company expects to add R 100 crore in 2009-10 as real estate sector is yet to pick up.
The company, which holds 42 per cent share in organised sanitaryware market in the country, is also looking at increasing its sanitaryware production capacity in future to meet the growing demand.
Currently, Hindware operates two manufacturing plants with cumulative production capacity of 2.8 million pieces a year.
In order to achieve its target, the company is also strengthening its network.

A new display centre of the company is slated to be rolled out in Mumbai by the end of August. Ahmedabad and Bangalore are the next cities where the company plans to open such centres,” he added.
The company, which operates two manufacturing plants in Haryana and Andhra Pradesh, has a network of 1,000 direct dealers and 12,000 sub-dealers across the country.
