Hiring activities slumped across sectors in June amid uncertain economic conditions, but companies still remain bullish about an overall uptrend in their recruitment numbers for 2013, according to surveys.
As per a monthly survey released today by job portal Naukri.Com, many sectors including IT-Software, BPO and ITeS, Telecom, Banking and Financial Services, witnessed lower recruitment activities last month compared to May.
However, according to a global survey by professional networking site LinkedIn, Indian companies plan to ramp up their hiring plans in 2013. More than half of the talent acquisition leaders surveyed are planning to hire more people in 2013 than they did last year.

Meanwhile, the monthly Naukri Job Speak index declined to 1,230 last month as against 1,317 in May. The index -- a gauge of monthly online hiring trends -- has been falling since April when it stood at 1,368.
"The macroeconomic environment is still not very robust and the pattern of job creation in this quarter has been quite symbolic of caution ... Taking cues from the weakened global economic parameters," Info Edge (India) MD and CEO Hitesh Oberoi said in a statement.
Naukri.Com is part of Info Edge group.
On the other hand, LinkedIn survey found about 57% of Indian companies plan to increase hiring this year while the same stood at 53% in 2012.
The findings are based on 'LinkedIn Recruiting Trends' survey that covered 3,300 talent acquisition leaders across 19 countries. From India, there were about 274 respondents.
Further, the report said around 84% recruiters believe that employer brand has a significant impact on the organisation's ability to hire great talent.
"With growing competition to acquire quality talent, 93% recruiters are either increasing or sustaining their investment in developing and reinforcing employer brand," it added.
The survey revealed that 26% recruiters in India strongly believe in the growing significance and impact of such initiatives whereas globally, only about 7% of the respondents felt the same way.
