Workers of Hindustan Lever Ltd's (HLL) Garden Reach factory have accepted the rationalisation of workforce andpromised not to disrupt work without going through the dispute settlement mechanism.

In response, HLL will lift lock-out at the factory from September 30, after separation of 150 contractors' labourers.

A tripartite settlement was reached today between HLL and three unions representing direct and contract labourers, the company stated in a release.

The unions have agreed that they would give at least 14 days' notice to the management and the Assistant Labour Commissioner concerned, about any unresolved dispute that might lead to disruption of work in any form.
