HLL launches water purifier

Hindustan Lever (HLL) launched its water purifier - Pureit - in Chennai today.

Pureit operates on a battery, and costs Rs 1,500. The Rs 250 battery lasts for 1,500 litres, an official statement said today.

"It is the only purifier that gives water as safe as boiled water without boiling, and without needing electricity or continuous tap water supply," the release added.

Pureit has a patented pureit germkill battery that is a combination of unique technological breakthroughs. "This patented technological breakthrough has been developed and guaranteed by Hindustan Lever. A team of over 100 Indian and international experts from HLL and Unilever research centres have devoted over five years to develop this purifier. The performance of Pureit has also been tested by leading scientific and medical institutions in India and abroad," the release added.
