HMT plans MUV with Mitsubushi

State-owned HMT Ltd is talking to Mitsubushi for collaborating in manufacturing of multi-utility vehicles and some other vehicles, targeting the rural market.

"A team from HMT had visited Mitsubushi and now a team from Mitsubushi is expected in the next few weeks to take the discussions forward," secretary in the ministry of heavy industries and public enterprises, Priyadarshi Thakur told newspersons here.

"The detail of the collaboration were yet to be finalised... The talks were still in premilinary stages," he said.

Mitsubushi was shortlisted by HMT after talking to several prospective partners, he said.

Thakur said HMT was yet to prepare a complete project report on the proposed collaboration.
