HOEC strikes oil, gas in Cambay basin

 During the ongoing drilling campaign in block CB-on/7 in the Cambay basin, well prd-2 encountered a new hydrocarbon bearing sand s4. Tests resulted in flow of crude oil at an initial rate of 565 barrels per day and gas at a rate of 0.18 million cubic feet per day through the 6 mm bean with a flowing pressure of 754 PSI.

 Well PRD-2 is a development well drilled for exploring the S3 sand in Pramoda Development Area. The company is currently moving ahead with testing the S3 sand, HOEC said in a release issued to the BSE.

 HOEC is operator of the block CB-on/7 near Palej town, 52 kms from Vadodara, with 50% participating interest in exploration and 35% participating interest in Pramoda Development Area.
