Honda targets 1mn units sale in 3 yrs

Honda Motorcycles and Scooter India today said it expects sales to cross 10 lakh units mark in the next three years as it conducts a feasibility study for a new plant.

The company, which expects to clock a sales of 7.2 lakh units this fiscal, is targeting to sell 9 lakh units in domestic market in FY08.

"We are to grow at a rate which is more than industrial growth rate and expect one million sales mark in the next 3 years," Yao Shima, CEO & president, HMSI said here.

The company would soon introduce fuel injection technology in its premium brands and is also planning to launch a 100cc bike and a gearless scooter in the coming months.
