House of Patels group is set to foray into textiles, computer hardware and peripherals along with its expected launch of Patel Retail.

Patel Retail, a venture of Patel Roadways, will offer customers across the country a new cargo service at lower rates.

With 150-plus branches serving over 400 delivery stations, covering the length and breadth of the country, Patel Retail is positioning itself between conventional transport and express cargo.

With markets moving towards smaller loads, 'Patel Retail', is expected to be a major player due to its economised services. Arif Patel, vice-chairman, Patel Roadways, said, "We have priced Patel Retail aggressively. Our rates are 20 -25 per cent lower than the competitors."

"Using cutting edge technology, Patel Retail will enable customers to trace their shipment on the various stages of its journey. Also, it will reduce rentals for us since our new branch model is closer to our customers and reduces the need for storage of goods to a large extent," he said.

The company has 350 existing branches all over India and with its inception, Patel Retail services, will be available in A and B class towns apart from major cities like Mumbai, Bangalore, Chennai, Delhi, Hyderabad, Kochi, Ahmedabad, Nagpur, Nashik, Kanpur, Kolkata, Indore, Baroda, Noida, Chandigarh, Ludhiana, Lucknow, Jaipur and Pune.
