BetterPlace, a firm that does background verification of blue-collar workers, has extended its partnership with utility services provider HouseJoy to build profiles of all servicemen listed on the platform.
The partnership started off as a pilot which ran in Bengaluru during second quarter this year, and has now been extended to all cities HouseJoy operates in.
BetterPlace, which now counts former Google India head Lalitesh Katragadda as an investor and board member, will provide identification checks, address verification, and criminal record checks, in addition to helping obtain police verification for all the service providers.
"Doorstep delivery of essential home services such as beauty solutions, plumbing, and electricity requires the individuals to often spend 1-2 hours inside homes. As such, safety becomes a prime concern for both the consumers and the service provider," said Pravin Agarwala, Co-founder & CEO, BetterPlace, in a statement.
BetterPlace will provide personnel verification services for HouseJoy across all ten cities the latter service currently operates in. Going forward, the verification company also plans to expand its broader service to cater to customers in 15 cities by the end of the year.
"Our customers should feel comfortable with the service providers entering their homes. We have partnered with BetterPlace to do a thorough background verification as they help us with Identity, Address and Police verification for all our service providers," said Sunil Goel, Co-Founder of Housejoy.
