Lifestyle diseases are spreading rapidly in India and millions of unfit people need some inspiration to go the healthy way. Bangalore-based entrepreneurs Saket Agarwal and Ashish Agarwal have taken up this very task, integrating fitness into people’s lifestyles and putting it on the radar.

Inspired by their own unhealthy and unfit lifestyle, the two Agarwals launched FiTurtle, a location based fitness app.

“We may be slow and relaxed like the turtle, but if we try hard enough and be persistent about staying fit, we will be fit,” says Saket explaining the name FiTurtle.

The free app has been live in Bangalore since January 25 and is steadily picking up customers.

FiTurtle promises you can get washboard abs with just 90 seconds of work, three to six times a week. But to make it, you have to stay motivated. The app works on the premise that you can be motivated by people around you.

A bit like a dating app, FiTurtle helps find a perfect match, only for fitness instead of hookups. “Users can connect with trainers and people having similar fitness profiles around them on the go,” says Saket.

FiTurtle has partnered with 75 experts from the fitness industry.

The app requires users to get an invite and has seen about 500 downloads in less than a month. People can maintain and share their daily workouts, get fitness queries resolved, get reminders for ideal food and exercise habits, and even create or join fitness communities around them.

Right now FiTurtle is available only in Bangalore. They are however planning to expand to other cities like Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, Hyderabad, and Kolkata.
