The agreement was signed by Aravali Power CEO P K Modi and HPCC Chief Engineer V K Goyal in the presence of Haryana Financial Commissioner and Principal Secretary, Power, Ashok Lavasa here.
Lavasa said that three units of 500 MW each of Indira Gandhi Super Thermal Power Station (IGSTPS) were being set up at village Jharli in district Jhajjar.
He said it was a joint venture of National Thermal Power Corporation (NTPC), Inderprastha Power Generation Corporation Ltd. And Haryana Power Generation Corporation Ltd.

The total cost of the project would be about Rs 7,892 crore and would be one of the Mega Status power projects of Northern India.
The coal-based power plant would be set up in phased manner and the first unit of the project would be ready by April, 2010, while the second in October 2010 and the third in January, 2011.
The project is being set up with an equity ratio of 50:25:25 by NTPC, Delhi and Haryana governments. Haryana and Delhi states would get the power in 50:50 ratio. The debt portion is being financed by Power Finance Corporation to the tune of Rs 5,180 crore, he added.
