HSBC opens 5th India centre in Kolkata

HSBC has opened its fifth group service centre in the country at Salt Lake, Kolkata.

"The new centre, which can accomodate 3,000 people, would initially take up basic data entry and back office job for HSBC offices in UK and US," Alan W Jebson, chief operating officer of HSBC Holdings Plc, said.
The operations would be extended to other countries later, he added.

The service centre was inaugurated by West Bengal chief minister Buddhadev Bhattacharjee.
