HT Media appoints Shobhana Bhartia as Chairperson

HT Media today said it has appointed Shobhana Bhartia as Chairperson of the company.     

The board of directors has appointed Bhartia as the Chairperson of the company with immediate effect, HT Media said in a filing to the Bombay Stock Exchange.     

Bhartia, the Vice Chairperson and Editorial Director of the media firm, would be taking over from her father KK Birla, who died last month.     

Founded in 1924, HT Media operates 19 printing facilities across India. Besides Hindustan Times and Hindustan, the company also publishes Mint. It also has presence in electronic media through its subsidiary HT Music and Entertainment Company Ltd.     

 

For the financial year ended March 31, the media conglomerate had reported a 26 per cent growth in its profit after tax at Rs 144.60 crore.     

Shares of HT Media were trading at Rs 111.80, down 3.99 per cent in the afternoon trade on the BSE.
