Publishing firm HT Media (HTML) today posted a 33.52 per cent increase in consolidated net profit to Rs 47.79 crore for the quarter ended December 31, 2010, as against Rs 35.79 crore in the same period last year.
HTML's total income stood at Rs 465.06 crore during the quarter under review, compared to total sales of Rs 366.14 crore during the same period last fiscal, the company said in a filing to the Bombay Stock Exchange.
The consolidated results of HTML include the financials of group companies Hindustan Media Ventures, HT Music and Entertainment Company, HT Burda Media and HT Digital Media Holdings, among others.
HTML earned Rs 447.25 crore from printing and publishing of newspapers and periodicals, while its radio broadcast and entertainment business contributed Rs 18.17 crore to total revenues during the reporting quarter.
The shares of the company closed at Rs 145.65 apiece, down 2.48 per cent from the previous close on the BSE.
