It is an attempt to showcase the tremendous opportunities/potential of Hubli-Dharwad in particular and this region in general for IT investment.

The advantages and potentialities of Hubli-Dharwad will be sought to be marketed in order to encourage IT investment in this region.

The department of IT and BT is organising this meet along with the district administration.

The IT department has sent invites to around 150 companies who could be potential investors.

Srikar said, "The place has natural advantages. There is salubrious climate and congestion free atmosphere here. Availability of low cost real estate and most importantly a rich human resource pool should spur growth of IT here. As far as other infrastructure facilities are concerned. The area is being developed under various schemes.

The roads are being widened and re-laid. The Airport Authority of India is developing the Hubli airport. The South Western Railway is also working towards upgrading the railway facilities. The area has good connectivity".
