Hutch, a cellular service provider in Gujarat, has launched a Hindi voice response service for its subscribers in the state on Thursday. |
The voice-activated information service enables users to give voice commands for seeking news or jokes or downloading ring tones and logos and hear the response on their cellular handset, using a single voice response number, 123, the company said. |
Sanjoy Mukerji, chief executive officer, Hutch Gujarat, said, "Hindi voice response service reinforces our commitment to develop customised solutions that help us deliver innovative and useful value-added services to our customers. We have customised the service to suit Indian accents and I am confident that the Hindi voice response will gain rapid popularity with Hutch subscribers in Gujarat." |
The voice response service is custom-designed to recognize Hindi voices and accents, Mukerji said. |
One can get their Hutch phone to respond directly to voice commands in Hindi. This service is an extension to the voice response service that Hutch has been providing to its subscribers, Mukerji said. |
"The technology offers a friendly interface and makes all information services available on a single number. This is an important milestone for making value-added services more accessible and customer-friendly," said Mukerji. |
Hutch has over 10 lakh subscribers in Gujarat. Hutchison Essar has licences for 13 circles and has a combined subscriber base of over 50 lakh. |
