A new Global Development Centre (GDC), claimed to be the single largest facility worldwide for Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), being built up here, will be operational by the end of 2003.

The new centre is spread over a 11-acre plot with a built-up area of 3.20 lakh sq ft. It is estimated to cost Rs 100 crore for the civil infrastructure itself.

Announcing this at a press conference here today, Rajesh Nambiar, regional manager of TCS, said the new facility can accommodate about 2,200 people initially.
