Hypercity to scale up ops; commences fifth mall

Eyeing a larger share of the country's retail market, K Raheja-promoted retail chain Hypercity Retail has outlined an aggressive growth plan.

As part of this, Hypercity plans to open five more shopping mall pan-India over the next 18 months in major centres like Amritsar and Bangalore, its Vice-Chairman B S Nagesh said.

The company today opened a new mall in the country in Mumbai taking the total number of malls in the country to five. Presently, Hypercity has two malls in Mumbai and one each in Jaipur and Hyderabad,

"This is another milestone in our effort to bring about a retail revolution in India. We will soon launch a few stores in Amritsar and Bangalore," Nagesh said.

 

With this, Hypercity now enjoys a total retail space of over 3 lakh sq ft.

Spread across 0ne lakh sq ft area, Thane hypermarket will have a free bus service with a pick and drop facility for its customers from their doorstep to Hypercity. The store will have a range of over 45,000 branded products.

It will have a suite of exclusive brands like Fresh Basket in food, Ebano and Avorio in home-ware, Maxit in sports, Technix in appliances, City, RiverInc in fashion among others at an affordable price.
