Hyundai Motor India (HMIL) today reported a 52.3% increase in domestic sales at 29,401 units in March as against 19,300 units sold in March 2007. Exports increased 96.9% to 17,600 units from 8,939 units in March 2007. H S Lheem, managing director, HMIL, said: "We are absolutely delighted by our sales touching an all-time high, and we believe it shows the strength of the Hyundai brand. The newly-launched compact i10 has done phenomenally well and is on its way to becoming a very popular car. With the commissioning of our new plant, we are now in a position to meet the growing demand for the domestic as well as our overseas customers, and this will help us strengthen our position in the market." |
