IBF appoints Star India CEO Uday Shankar as President

The Indian Broadcasting Foundation, the apex body of television channels, today said Star India CEO Uday Shankar has been appointed as its President for the year 2010-11.

Furthermore, TV Today CEO and Executive Director G Krishnan has taken over as Vice-President of the umbrella body, IBF said in a statement.

The outgoing President, Jawahar Goel of Zee Telefilms, will continue to be on the board, along with Multi Screen Media CEO Man Jit Singh and India TV Chairman Rajat Sharma, among others.

"In the 58th Board of Directors meeting of IBF in Hyderabad, current office-bearers Jawahar Goel (President), K V L Narayan Rao (Vice-President) and I Venkat (Treasurer) willingly stepped down from their posts as they felt that other members should also get an opportunity," IBF said.

 

Markand Adhikari of Shri Adhikari Bros, Siddharth Jain (Turner International India) and  Sameer Nair (Turner General Entertainment Networks) were appointed as directors.
