IBM's Pradeep Nair joins Autodesk

Autodesk is a US-based 3D design software for manufacturing, building, construction, engineering and entertainment

Pradeep Nair who was the director of software group for IBM India and South Asia's has joined Autodesk as Managing Director, India. Pradeep Nair replaces Rajiv Nair, who was the vice-president & Managing Director of Autodesk India.

Autodesk is a US-based 3D design software for manufacturing, building, construction, engineering and entertainment.

According to Nair's LinkedIn profile, he joined the company in September and will head the business of Autodesk in India. Pradeep Nair joined IBM in 2003 when the Lotus Software team was merged into IBM. He holds an MBA from the Indian Institute of Management-Calcutta, and a bachelor's degree from VESIT, Bombay University.

Autodesk on Friday announced the acquisition of Qontext, enterprise social collaboration software from Hyderabad-based Pramati Technologies. The company in 2005 sold Pramati Studio, a platform to build developer tools, to the US company Progress Software.
