IBM to teach computers to school children

Madurai Corporation has signed an MoU with IBM Corporation to help students of corporation schools learn computer skills and knowledge.

Under the scheme the IBM would provide 100 computers to 20 primary schools besides providing curriculum softwares and required furnitures free of cost.

Teachers would be trained by the IBM experts, a press release said here today.

The IBM had been operating the scheme at schools In Chennai. Each computer costing Rs 60, 000 had been made specially for the use of students, the release said.
