IBS in 5-year deal with Japan firm

Technopark-based IBS Software Services has inked a five-year deal with Tokyo-based All Nippon Airways to provide the integrated new generation cargo management system, called iCargo.
 
The iCargo software is expected to address the current and future business requirements of All Nippon Airways' air freight operations, which grew in revenue and load by over 20 per cent in the last fiscal.
 
All Nippon Airways is among the top 30 air freight carriers in the world based on freight tonne-kilometres, an IBS source said.
 
VK Mathews, chairman and managing director, IBS, said, "This signifies the beginning of a trend towards adopting new-generation IT systems to replace the decades-old legacy systems."
 
IBS is Kerala's own global major among the providers of new-generation IT solutions to the travel, transportation and logistics industry.
 
Toru Sato, senior v-p - Information Technology Services, All Nippon Airways, said, "Our decision to choose iCargo was prompted by our need for a system that would help us address the rapidly growing air cargo business around the world."

All Nippon is Japan's second largest domestic and international airline. It operates services to 49 destinations in Japan and on 22 international routes, employing over 22,000 staff worldwide.
 
iCargo provides enhanced web-enabled features that offer better product distribution. The system is an integrated solution that supports all the requirements of an airline's cargo and freight business.
