Idea Cellular Q2 profit drops 35 per cent
Mumbai: Idea Cellular, the country’s fifth-largest mobile-phone operator, reported a 35 per cent drop in its group profit in the second quarter. Net profit fell to Rs 144 crore ($29.4 million) in the three months ended September 30, from Rs 220 crore a year earlier, the New Delhi-based company said in a statement to the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) today. Revenue climbed 47.4 per cent to Rs 2,300 crore.
HT Media Q2 net dips 49% to Rs 16 crore
Mumbai: HT Media today announced a net profit of Rs 16.28 crore for the second quarter ended September 30, a 49 per cent dip over Rs 31.94 crore it recorded the corresponding period a year ago.
Total income rose 18.17 per cent to Rs 334.17 crore for the quarter under review, from Rs 282.77 crore in the year-ago period. For the six months ended September 30, the media house reported a net profit of Rs 53.98 crore, a decline of 18 per cent y-o-y from Rs 66.10 crore.
Kale Consultants profit up 47% y-o-y
Mumbai: Kale Consultants reported a consolidated net profit of Rs 4.08 crore for the second quarter ended September 30, 2008, a growth of 46.7 per cent from Rs 2.78 crore in the corresponding quarter last year. During the period, revenue grew by 4 per cent to Rs 37.29 crore from Rs 35.8 crore in the same quarter last year.
