Idea launches 'Aurus 4' 3G smartphone in Gujarat

The device looks to attract the youth through loaded features like a 5 megapixel primary camera along with video calling facility, 11.4 cms TFT display with 16 m colors

In a bid to consolidate on its 3G device portfolio in Gujarat, Idea Cellular, the country's third largest mobile operator, on Thursday launched 'Aurus 4', dual-sim Android smartphone for the Gujarat market.

The national launch of the new device in Gujarat looks to attract the youth through loaded features such as a 5 megapixel (MP) primary camera along with video calling facility, 11.4 cms (4.5") TFT display with 16 m colors. To further attract the youth, Idea Cellular has priced the device at Rs 8,999.

"Idea is the highest penetrated 2G and 3G network in Gujarat with 6,043 sites covering the entire length and breadth of the state. We have been witnessing tremendous data update amongst our users, which has been spurred by the Idea 3G smartphones. We have strengthened our distribution channel for 3G devices and plan to sell the new Idea Aurus 4 through 1,000 retail outlets in the state," said Puneet Krishnan, Chief Operating Officer - Gujarat, Idea Cellular.
 

Powered by a 1.3 GHz dual-core processor which runs on Android Jelly Bean (4.2), the dual-SIM smartphone will also offer features such as internet surfing, video-conferencing facility, email updates, games, social networking, smart applications and various widgets.
