Geodesic Information Systems and India's leading GSM Mobile Service Operator IDEA Cellular have announced launch of IDEA Radio - a mobile internet radio service.

IDEA Radio is built on Geodesic's award-winning Mundu Radio technology, which will enable IDEA's 20 million subscribers to listen to a range of entertainment channels.

IDEA Radio is set to change the mobile entertainment landscape in India by plugging the gaps in FM radio and other mobile offerings such as IVR-based radio. The technology also allows unlimited channels.

IDEA subscribers can access the service through their GPRS- enabled mobile handsets. Several flexible subscription options are also available, including Rs 149 per month or Rs 10 per day.

"Mobile devices are the preferred mode of entertainment today. Our Mundu Radio technology will provide a competitive edge to IDEA," Geodesic's MD, Kiran Kulkarni said.
