A senior IDI official said the Centre was in talks with Africa and a positive outcome in this regard would soon be announced. |
"To create employment opportunity for its people, the African government is planning to take all the necessary steps and this also involves developing the economy of countries that are into the business of rough diamond," said KK Sharma, executive director of IDI. |
Chairman of Gems and Jewellery Council of India Chadrakant Sanghavi, who also chairs Sanghavi Exports, said, "Africa is now laying emphasis on polishing rough diamonds in its own countries as a result of which small traders can also set up their offices there." |
