A single change in trade rules in 2003 led to the UK becoming one the world’s largest creator and exporter of television content, such as Britain’s got Talent, Who Wants To Be A Millionaire, Sherlock, and Top Gear, among others. In 2015-16, it sold £1.32 billion worth of shows, formats and other rights across the world. PACT is the trade association representing the commercial interests of UK independent television, film, digital, children’s and animation media firms.
