IFC to invest $100 mn in India-based funds

International Finance Corporation (IFC) plans to invest $100 million (Rs 500 crore) in six to seven private equity funds in India in 2012. In addition to this it will invest in assets directly as well. IFC on Tuesday announced an investment of $20 million (Rs 100 crore) in Pragati India Fund, an investment fund that focuses on small and medium enterprises in low-income Indian states.
