iGate to double headcount in Canada

iGate Global Solutions is planning to double its headcount in Canada in 2006.

According to a release issued by iGate Global Solutions to the BSE today, the company is targeting the Canadian market with its iTOPS solutions in finance and accounting, insurance and banking.

"Canada is a rapidly growing market for iGate. There is a distinct advantage with Canada being able to offer the capability as an extension of offshore services for non-English requirements," Srinjay Sengupta, chief sales officer of iGate Global Solutions, said.

Jason Trussell, associate vice president (Canada) of iGate Global Solutions, said: "iGate has invested heavily in flagship deals with a number of Canadian clients. iGate will continue to invest in people, technology and infrastructure to support the rapid growth in the region."
