Average salary is Rs 5.31 lakh this year
Global economic recession and the Gulf war posed little problem for IIT Delhi, Department of Management Studies (DMS). As per DMS, a batch of 44 students was placed in less than three days.
Companies that visited the campus include McKinsey KC, General Electric, CIS, Maersk, TCS, RBI, Ingersoll Rand, Bharti Televentures, Tata Power, among others.
The average salary was Rs 5.31 lakh, which is about 25 per cent higher than last year. The highest salary offer was dollar compensation with an Indian equivalent of Rs.9.2 lakh,while the highest Indian offer amounted to Rs 8.2 lakh.
This apart, about 11 lateral placement were offered to the students. In all three foreign offers had been made to the students.
The number of companies which have visited campus this year were 35 as compared to 31 last year. The number of lateral placements have increased from 6 last year to 11 this year.
