India Fashions opens OOBE outlet in Kolkata

Mumbai-based India Fashions opened an exclusive store for its OOBE (Out of Body Experience) a women's ready-to-wear garments brand in at City Centre in Kolkata today.

India Fashions, with a turnover of over Rs 50 crore, plans to invest Rs 5 crore in its retail operations, which comprises opening 25 stores in Kolkata, Mumbai, Delhi, Ahmedabad, Lucknow, Noida, Bangalore, Hyderabad and Chandigarh.

The 'City Centre' outlet is the company's eighth outlet in the chain and the first in the city.

India Fashions has been exporting more than 90 per cent of its products to United States, Europe, Canada, South America, New Zealand and the Middle East "" prior to setting up OOBE 4 years back.

"We feel that the domestic market has huge potential ""- our main focus would now be India. We are targeting a 30-40 per cent growth in the domestic business whereas the export growth target has been set at 10 per cent only", said N Mehta, managing director, India Fashions.

The company has no plans to tie-up with big brands to market its products at huge scales ""- but such a development is possible once the 'brand' gains market presence across the country, he added.

"We are taking the eastern market very seriously. Our target from 'city centre' outlet if around Rs 20 lakh nearly double that we generate from our Mumbai and Delhi outlets. We are looking forward to set up 2 more store in the city very soon", added Mehta.

The OOBE women's collection casual wear is priced between Rs 399 and Rs 950 , whereas the women's corporate wear has two ranges "" Rs 599 -750 and Rs 650-1199.

India Fashions has its manufacturing units in Thane, and Silvassa with a monthly capacity to manufacture 90,000 woven garments, 50,000 flatknits and 25,000 circular knits.

The brand has already won appreciation from the Clothing Manufacturers' Association of India (CMAI) and Images Fashion Awards.
