 We may get to see Kimi Raikkonen, if not Michael Schumacher race a Formula One car on Indian soil, if Bernie Ecclestone, head of Federation Internationale de Automobile (FIA), the global governing body for Formula One racing, has his way. Venue? Hyderabad, in all probability.

 India does not have a road racing circuit worthy of Formula One and efforts are already on to get a new track ready.

 Though the Federation of Motorsports Clubs of India (FMSCI) has not initiated talks with any state government yet, they put the cost of the project at around $100 million (Rs 460 crore).

 In what could be a shot in the arm for the plan, the two sparring motorsports associations in India, FMSCI and the Motorsports Association of India (MAI), are now coming together for the cause of development of motorsports in India.

 The two federations are all set to forget their differences and come together under the international governing body, FIA (Federation Internationale de Automobile) next year onwards.

 Vicky Chandhok, FMSCI president, confirmed the plan saying:
