Encouraged by the success of its first Indione hotel in Bangalore, Indian Hotels Company (IHCL) today announced the rollout of Indione at 10 additional locations across the country.

"The construction work of the ten hotels will start in two months, and they will be operational by the first quarter of the next fiscal," IHCL MD Raymond Bickson said today.

Bickson said the ten locations for Indione are Pune, Nashik, Mysore, Haridwar, Panjim, Bhubaneshwar, Varanasi, Thiruvananthapuram, Jamshedpur and Durgapur.

"The estimated cost for a Indione hotel is around Rs 10 crore. The hotels will have a 100-room facility," he added.

Sheila Nair, COO of Roots Corporation (a subsidiary of IHCL for executing Indione), said the company would begin with Haridwar followed by other locations.

Co-created with corporate strategy thinker C K Prahalad, Indione hotels are designed with the concept of "smart basics". "The first hotel in Bangalore has achieved an average occupancy of over 85%," she added.
