Tata Motors has launched its Indigo Compact sedan priced Rs 379,000 onwards, the company said in a newspaper advertisement. |
"The world's first sub-4 meter sedan... (will blur) the line between hatches and sedans," the advertisement said. |
The car, with a fuel trunk capacity of 380 L, will come in petrol and diesel variants. |
The Indigo Compact will, however, not come in the way of the company's original sedan Indigo, the company had said earlier. |
The car is likely to spawn a fresh set of converts among vehicle buyers. |
It will also reap the lower excise duty benefit given to small cars meeting certain specifications. |
Wednesday, shares of Tata Motors closed at Rs 658.85 on the National Stock Exchange, down 0.05% from its previous close. |
