Indo-German JV company Schott Kaisha launches new plant

New plant to expand production capacity by 50% to around 2 bn ampoules, vials per year

Schott Kaisha, an Indo-German joint venture company has stepped up its pharmaceutical  packaging business with 20 million euros ( about Rs 150 crore) investment in a new plant  The company which specialies in manufacture of ampoules, vials and other products  today announced the launch of new plant in Gujarat.

The new plant will expand the production capacity by 50% to around 2 billion ampoules and vials per year. “We see a steadily rising demand for locally manufactured primary packaging that meets the rising quality demands”, says Kairus Dadachanji, managing director of Schott Kaisha.

The packaging market is expected to grow in line with the overall pharma market by about 11% each year and the company is planning further expansion to cater to demand.

The new plant in Jambusar in Gujarat has 20 production lines for ampoules and 16 for vials, with scope for further expansion. Its fully automated production process uses high-end robotic feeding technology for tube-loading as well as high-precision camera inspection systems, the company said in a statement today.
