West Bengal Small Industries Development (WBSIDC) managing director and Bengal National Chamber of Commerce & Industry (BNCCI) president urged the small industrialists to take initiative to build up infrastructure of the industrial estates.

WBSIDC managing director Hari Ramalu while interacting with BNCCI members today said the corporation wanted the assistance of the entrepreneurs to build up infrastructure although the responsibility of providing the same rested on it.

BNCCI president S K Chakraborty suggested that the corporation might offload a part of the industrial estates to the entrepreneurs and utilise the amount for upgradation of infrastructure.

Ramalu said the corporation would develop a second industrial estate of 5 acres at Tangra, adding that "this might be the last chance for the small industrialists to have shop near the city."

The corporation has identified possibility of developing new estates at Berhampur, Balurghats, Durgapur and Asansol
