Manufacturing production growth during May stood at 3.9 per cent, as against 11.3 per cent in the year ago month. Electricity production growth slipped to 2 per cent in the month under consideration, compared to 9 per cent in May, 2007. Mining growth in May stood at 5.2 per cent, as against 3.8 per cent in the same month of 2007.
